Tale
Mark leads a team of office workers whose memories are surgically divided between their work and personal lives. When a mysterious coworker shows up outside of work, he embarks on a journey to discover the truth about his job. The computer terminals used by the team to refine macro data do not have an "escape" key.
Ben Stiller directed it himself
Featured on Late Night with Seth Meyers: Ben Stiller/Rose Matafeo/Brooke Colucci (2022). Edit* Episode 9 S1 is one of the greatest TV episodes I’ve ever seen from a serialized show, it still tells the story, but shines much brighter. And he deserves awards and recognition for it.
There are only two episodes out
So I’ll be very brief for now and update with a full review at the end of the series. I’m going to spoil everything because I went into the plot blind before watching. Considering just the actors/directors, Stiller is still one of the few unique directors in hollyweird who can pull off great actors and decent budgets.
It’s a universe unto itself
This is a show unlike anything else on the air, and has great potential to be considered one of the greatest offbeat, irreverent dark comedy series. I can’t wait for the world building. Just give this one a chance, it’s not political or influenced by the real world yet.
